警政署教育組邀我到署裡做一場報告，題目是「生命的覺醒與理想的實踐」。這題目是摯友林正弘建議的。我原以為是面對二、三十人的談話，稍後接到警政署公文，知道與會有兩百人，很多高階警官。人多就不容易安祥的對話，尤其是聽眾迫不得已而參加聚會，或對於講者缺乏信賴，都無法使得大家心靈上真誠相遇。不過，既然答應了，我就必須盡力而為。為了避免報告的瑣碎與凌亂，我於是整理思緒，寫下這篇文字稿。…
