印尼古典舞者─馬丁尼‧密羅陀 Martini Miroto

I want to write something about Miroto's dance... where I ponder if I can find the right words to describe that dance and the man?

五月二十七日,亞洲文化協會(ACC)為協助台灣藝術家得以在關鍵時刻出國進修、研習或駐村,北三三及南三三小集傾力舉辦「非凡舞蹈之夜」,邀請受獎舞者為募款晚會而舞,印尼國寶舞者Miroto的最後一支舞 Panji讓人震撼到找不到最好的詞彙來形容其所展現的絕色。

我想,那主題不管是什麼,但我確知──那是「纏綿」。

音樂響起,舞者靜靜地、輕輕地扭轉他的肉身,一身漆黑、清衢的身驅在
欲言又止的舞步裡前後移動著,其雙足以其側邊隨樂開合,如大樹盤根錯節般地靜靜舞著,腳趾頭張開抓著大地,身體裡那一絲小小的火燄在傾訴,那不是低吟淺唱,而是靜默的哭號;他將沉默的面具置於臉龐,那摩挲的愛憐與凝視.......,身軀的扭動、手足的伸張與渴望──那就是纏綿。我想,這就是愛戀的極至吧,Miroto使出渾身解數的舞蹈令人動容,他的舞蹈讓我驚異天地之美,有如赤子的最初,感動令人垂淚,心中因此久久不能平復。

他毋需狂歌,也毋需奔騰,但燃燒的火燄卻穿透了寂靜的夜。

謝謝 Suzie, Rita and Tina的安排,這一生沒有"taste" Miroto將是終生的遺憾。

簡介 馬丁尼‧密羅陀 Martinus Miroto

馬丁尼‧密羅陀為舞蹈家及編舞家。他最初學習爪哇古典宮廷舞。
雖然密羅陀熱愛古典舞蹈,並曾獲選Sultan Hamengku Buwana 十世頒發的最佳古典舞舞者,但他認為古典宮廷舞無法提供自由的身體律動。於是密羅陀將自己釋放到一個當代身體裡,發展新的可能。密羅陀簡化了爪哇舞步的精髓,並透過現代舞、太極和武術豐富肢體經驗。他同時保留爪哇舞精髓中的技巧與精神,將原本傳統的身體轉換為充滿當代元素的身體。
對密羅陀而言,編舞是出於想像力的創意溝通語言,它結合律動藝術、聲音、空間、時間、人物、能量與意象。密羅陀編舞時注意到這些元素,同時發覺身體與社會、環境密不可分;密羅陀作品中的精神及社會價值很自然地以說故事或抽象的方式,觸及社會議題。

駐村期間,密羅陀將訪問台北的印尼移民家庭,探討他們如何跟社會產生關聯。同時,密羅陀想透過工作坊跟當地舞者互動,並以氣功探索身體。最後與視覺/裝置藝術家、電子/聲景作曲家、燈光設計師、服裝設計師及現代舞舞者合作。
在台北、印尼演出這個作品是密羅陀的夢想。此探索將形成編舞/編劇的意象及結構,完成作品。

Brief: Martinus Miroto [ 2009-05-08 - 2009-06-06 ] Resident in Taipei Arts Village
My dance career as a dancer and choreographer began with Javanese classical court dance. Although I enjoy dancing in classical form and received the Sultan Hamengku Buwana the X’ trophy as I was selected as the best dancer in classical form, the classical court dance does not provide freedom of movement and expression. This has motivated me to develop a new possibilities to free me into a contemporary body. Through a long process of simplifying the very-essence of Javanese dance principles and enriching my body experience in modern dance, taichi, and martial arts, finally I found myself transform from classical body into contemporary body without confronting the essence of Javanese dance technique and philosophy.

For me, choreography is a creative communication language comes from imagination and formed into a dramaturgy structure which is built from the art of movement, sound, space, time, character, energy and images. I am aware with those elements in making choreography and at the same time I am also aware that my body is related to community and environment, and spiritual and social values in which supports my work touches social issues naturally both in story telling or in abstract way.
In this residency program, I am interested in making a piece based on a research focused on Indonesian family emigrant in Taipei, how they related to the society. At the same time, I would like to do body exploration through workshop with local dancers and taking Qi Kung Classes. Then bring the exploration experience into rehearsal space to build choreographic / dramaturgy image and structure in order to shape the piece.

I am interested in working with visual / installation artist, electronic / soundscape composer, lighting designer, costume designer and contemporary dancers.
It is my dream to perform the piece both in Taipei and Indonesia.
